The Redwood Foundation for Education awarded a total of $798,325 in scholarships to students in Southern Oregon this past May. $648,525 was awarded to graduating high school students in Josephine County, $65,300 in senior awards and $44,500 in 6th-11th grade awards was awarded through our partnership with Project Youth+, and $40,000 was awarded from the Southern Oregon Latino Scholarship Fund.
Local high school seniors apply for scholarships from the Redwood Foundation for Education each year through one common application administered by the Foundation. Through the application, students can apply for over 200 individual scholarship funds that they are matched to, based upon on the individual scholarship criteria.
Scholarship and grant funds are donated to the Redwood Foundation for Education by individuals, businesses and service organizations. The Foundation manages a corpus of $9.5 million, which continues to grow through donations and bequests. Since 1982, the Foundation’s scholarship programs have awarded students more than $6.5 million.
