Luis Hernandez is a 2022 graduate from Illinois Valley High School, and is currently attending PSU. As a student at IVHS, Luis excelled, graduating first in his class. He participated in soccer, was a member of the National Honor Society and Project Youth+, and worked throughout high school.
The local scholarships Luis was awarded have made a significant impact. Luis reflected, “I would like to thank all of my donors for giving me this opportunity to further my education. I had no hope of going to college beforehand, but now I have the chance to keep studying. It has been a great stress reliever because before I received this scholarship, I was working at least 16 hours a week, along with school. I did this to save up enough money for college and now I am blessed to have been given scholarships. I cannot thank you all enough for this opportunity, it has really changed my life.”
