Abe Selvas, a Grants Pass High School graduate from the Class of 2022, is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science at Stanford University. His long-term goal of attending law school has been shaped by his lived experiences and the environments he grew up in. He has already been accepted to law school and is currently deciding where he would like to attend.

Abe credits his socio-economic background and the broader sociopolitical climate for inspiring him to study political science. He also acknowledges the meaningful impact of his parents, dedicated teachers, and college application advisors, all of whom played significant roles in guiding his academic and career aspirations.

The scholarships Abe received provided essential financial support, helping him afford important necessities during his transition to college. This assistance allowed him to focus more fully on his academic journey and future goals.

Abe encourages other students to stay open to possibility: “Say yes to any opportunity that comes your way.” He believes that embracing new experiences can open doors, build confidence, and lead to unexpected success.
