328. Barbara Ashbridge Memorial Scholarship
- Award: $300
- Eligibility: Graduating seniors from North Valley High School
- Selection Criteria: Awarded to a student who exhibits the same hard-working responsibility and joyful zest for life which Barbara Ashbridge shared with her community and plans to pursue a career as a nurse or work in a related healthcare capacity with patients in the medical or dental fields.
- Use of Funds: May be used at any accredited two- or four-year colleges. Scholarship checks are mailed directly to the recipients’ post-secondary education program. Scholarship funds may also be used to reimburse students for required books and school supplies with advanced approval.
- About the Scholarship: Barbara Ashbridge worked as a nurse for many years and was known for showering kindness, compassion and tenderness on every human being she came in contact with. She was giving, hard-working, honest and kind. Her three sons, Joe, Jeff and Jay Ashbridge graduated from NVHS. She died September 29, 1987. The memorial scholarship was established to honor her memory and is perpetually endowed.
