397. Heather Haynes Sheehan Memorial Scholarship – HVHS/IVHS/GPHS – Additional Essays Required
- Award: Variable, one award per school
- Eligibility: Graduating senior from Hidden Valley High School that attended Fruitdale Elementary School OR graduating senior from Illinois Valley High School that attended Lorna Byrne Middle School OR graduating senior from Grants Pass High School
- Selection Criteria: Selection is based on additional essay, community service and academics.
- Additional Essays: This scholarship is in memory of teacher Heather Sheehan. She had a wicked sense of humor, loved a good book, had the best playlists, and enjoyed a good game of Plants vs. Zombies. With Heather in mind, choose two of the following questions to answer to highlight your personality and characteristics. Please answer in an essay format, no more than 500 words per prompt:
– What book would you want to be in and why?
– What song is your anthem and why?
– How would you prepare for a zombie apocalypse? - Use of Funds: Scholarship may be used at accredited two- or four-year colleges, trade, or technical schools or for training in a federally accredited or state licensed or approved apprenticeship program. Scholarship checks are mailed directly to the recipients’ post-secondary education program. Scholarship funds may also be used to reimburse students for required books and school supplies with advanced approval.
